Taking your home off-grid

One of the huge advantages of transitioning to Tiny Living is the ability to go off-grid, partially or completely.

Generation Mobile fully supports and encourages off-grid independent living, and we want to ensure you have all the options available to be able to minimise your carbon footprint and live sustainably in your tiny home. At the same time dramatically reducing your living costs.

There are off-grid options for:

- Electricity (Solar Power and Generators)

- Composting Toilets

- Water Storage Tanks, Pumps and Filtration Systems

- Grey Water Systems

- Wood Heaters

Electricity - The most common solution for off-grid power is to use the energy from the sun. Solar panels can be installed on the roof of any mobile build and depending on the roof’s shape and design will affect the amount of panels that may be installed. Another, more practical option is to have the solar panels placed in a more suitable area on the ground or on a trailer nearby your home. Our remote solar systems also come with a backup generator, to ensure your electricity supply will never let you down.

Composting Toilets - Remarkably simple to use and maintain, composting toilets are a perfectly sustainable option to deal with sewage without the need to connect your toilet to a mains discharge point.

Water Supply - There are a few different ways to setup your off-grid tiny home water supply. The most common would be the use of a water tank. Depending on your usage, and the rainfall in your area the tank may hold the neccessary supply for your home, otherwise they can be simply topped up when required by a water cartage company. Another option if your home is located nearby a natural water source, we can supply and pump and filtration system that can draw from the creek or dam and run the water through a sophisticated filtration system that ensures the removal of any impurities and delivers clean, pure water straight into your tiny home.

Grey Water System - We can supply a grey water diverter system that collects the waste water from your tiny home, filters it and then discharges the waste water for garden irrigation around your tiny home.

Wood Heating - A small wood fire installed inside your tiny home removes the need for a gas or electricity supply and is the perfect solution to heat your tiny home. As well as providing a focal point in your home, and somewhere to relax they are also great to dry washing.
